Automating Blog Posts to Facebook Fanpage

Thursday, July 8, 2010 6:59

For some a Facebook fanpage presents a good platform for sharing information but sometimes you are limited to the functionality or possible capacity. In these situations most authors or content writers prefer to write in their own blogs. Sharing the information from your blog with your fans can be quite cumbersome and annoying if you manually enter posts over to your fanpage.
This method automates the process of transferring posts from your blog to your Facebook fanpage and will work with BlogSpot or WordPress Platforms.

**Note: I am assuming you have a Fanpage and that you have basic navigation skills for facebook.

The Steps:
1) Open up your fanpage.
2) Click the “+” Symbol at the tabs.
3) Select the Notes Tab,  Add New Note.
4)By Default you will get a form to input your notes. Ignore the form, to the top right of the form you will see small icons, click on the notepad icon.
5) You will have a field “Add the URL to your RSS feed”. Once you have entered your Blog URL click Start importing.

If you have lots of posts on your blog get ready as all the posts will be transfered over to your fanpage wall so this may become a headache at first.
After the initial import anytime your blog has a new post it will automatically post on your fanpage wall/stream.

Enjoy.

This is only a test

Found very powerful tool today!

Monday, April 5, 2010 7:56

I was working at about midnight on some graphic work for our catalogs and print media. I stumbled on a site with a really cool toolbar, after about 30 seconds of scoping it out I thought wow this would be coo… then i went to the site, www.meebo.com. and now www.websymantecs.com is rocking a Meebo interface. This is a really cool add-on tool as it integrates with your site seamlessly. For now there is no adds, hopefully we won’t see that happen no sense on making a good tool annoying. Good Job guys on this tool I really think its awesome and will help users stay on track with there social life while working.

We are very excited to see that people all over the world are interested, we hope you all stick around we will getting to the very fun stuff soon!
For now I am still working on making updates to the site. Unfortunately I do not have a staff to compartmentalize the work to so I must do it all myself. I am currently working on the implementation of a flash system which will be used as a rich application to help visitors navigate our site.

xymantec a.k.a. Miguel Angel Vallejo, know this!

Friday, March 12, 2010 16:18

Hey Everyone,
I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself, Miguel Angel Vallejo a.k.a xymantec. I am Mexican according to some institutions but I believe I am more American then most. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley (Calilfornia) just like Kevin Mitnick who’s work may I add, have always admired. Now I am not like most of your Scholars who went to school and read books and passed tests, Everything I know is self taught. I have been on computer systems since I was about 13. I am not an English Major nor do I have a team of journalism majors writing my blogs, there will be mistakes ^_^. I will share my experiences from both the end user point of view and the developer/engineer point of view. after all Web Symantec’s was conceived to help both end users and developers understand the ever-mutating web. I believe there is no information that isn’t worth learning muahaha… so with that being said I will try to be as professional as possible while staying real (if that makes sense haha). Yes we are a business and we are a full Web Dev and IT Solution, there is virtually nothing we cannot handle.

We are currently Live!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010 3:35

Yes after months of design we are now beginning to migrate the site over to the live environment. As this process continues, more of the sites functions will come to life. Due to the enormous amount of feed back we are saying screw it! Time to come out already. As you navigate the site keep in mind that our site is being migrated and is still in some of its testing stages, you may experience broken links and bad pages.
